COVID SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

SPRING 2021 GUIDELINES

(update as of 6/01/2021)

Effective May 19, 2021, Governor Ned Lamont has lifted the mandatory outdoor mask mandate for all people regardless of vaccination status.  This is consistent with the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In line with this federal and state requirement, spectators, coaches, and players are not required to wear masks at outdoor WSA events effective immediately.

We will continue to monitor the situation and keep you updated.

Thanks for your continued support.

After Traveling Outside CT:
Before returning to WSA activities after traveling Outside CT, WSA recommends (in-line with Westport Public Schools):

  • Get a viral test after returning to Connecticut, and stay out of WSA activities until you receive a negative test from the laboratory.
  • Be aware of and closely self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms during and after your trip, especially for the 14 days after returning.
  • Immediately quarantine if anyone with you on your trip tests positive after returning to Connecticut.
  • Be prepared to immediately quarantine if/when symptoms appear.

WSA Quarantine Policy:
If a player or coach of a team shows symptoms within 48 hours of last team exposure, and test 'positive' for Covid everyone on the team is considered a direct contact and must quarantine from WSA team activities for 10 days (expsosure is Day 0).  Testing "negative" will not shorten the quarantine time. No exceptions.
